BSR's Madison CD Release Party is almost here!

Here is the official Press Release....... we hope to see you there!

Madison based Baghdad Scuba Review will celebrate the release of their 2nd full length album Friday, May 14th at the High Noon Saloon, 10p. Weighing in at over 60 minutes, Breathe consists of 13 original tracks, many of which the band has been playing live for months or even years.  Some are already crowd favorites showing up on live recordings and youtube videos.  However, the album versions are crisp, recording studio quality renditions thanks to longtime recording engineer Mark Weber (Pressure Wall, formerly with DNA) who spent over a year working with the 6 piece group to get the live band sound down to digital.  Equally impressive artwork design for the album was done by Steven Welch (Madison Magazine) and Josh Meier (Mad Rollin' Dolls swag-master).

The new album shows more musical diversity than one would expect from an often mis-categorized "hippie jam band".  Loud guitars and 3 part harmonies are often the staple of BSR, but Breathe shows other elements like the techno jam of "Busted", reserved lo-fi of "Dream" and "Ooh Ahh", the tongue twisting rap of "Dormant", and the Americana electric bluegrass feel of "Day Breaks". The band will play the new album in it's entirety at the release party along with other originals and a few covers.  Warming up the stage will be fellow Madison jammers, The Grasshoppers, who last shared the stage with Baghdad Scuba Halloween weekend 2009 at the Barrymore Theatre.  BSR will have CD's and other brand new merchandise for the album available at the show.
